The Fight Will Go On...

PROTEST CALLED OFF FOR THE TIME BEING

The decision to call off the protest was taken in the meeting called after the rally yesterday. Interns have joined their duties from today.

We will be keeping a watch on the plans of other medical colleges. If possible, we intend to continue our activities after duty hours. Further plans will be put up on this blog.

A memorandum was given at the Collector's Office stating the support of the citizens of Anand and Vidyanagar to the protest and their willingness to help us in whatever way they can.

UPDATE - Hunger Protest:

The hunger protest was called off at 3:30 PM before the start of the rally.

Decision for further plan of action will be taken in meeting at 9 PM

The Protest Continues...

A MASS RALLY has been organised for today evening. Apart from our institute, the other participants are KM Patel College of Physiotherapy Karamsad, Anand Physiotherapy College, BVM College of Engg VVNagar, GCET VVNagar, Research students from SP University, Vitthal Udyognagar Association, Anand Chemists Association, businessmen from Sardargunj and local people from Anand and VVNagar.
The rally will start from Bhaikaka Statue in VVNagar at 4:00 PM and proceed along the commercial hub of Anand and VVNagar including the bus stand and end at the Collector's Office.

UPDATE - Hunger Protest:
The hunger protest has entered its 4th day today. A total of 45 people are on hunger protest today including 8 interns, 6 residents, Dr Rita Vora, 5 members of the hospital staff and 25 PG students from SP University.

BVM College of Engg have ended their 72-hour hunger protest. Anand Physiotherapy College have also ended their 24-hour hunger protest.

Decision regarding further plans of action will be taken later today. Watch this blog for updates.

Strike suspended...

In keeping with the directive of the Hon'ble Supreme Court of India, the ongoing strike has been suspended. Colleges, under the banner of Youth 4 Equality, have suspended their agitations for the time being (post on Youth 4 Equality site, May 31).

NOTE: We've received information from Ahmedabad and Baroda Medical Colleges that they have suspended their strike and will be resuming duties from tomorrow.

We've decided to continue with our plans for tomorrow and decide our stand later on.

Hunger protest on. Anand Physio joins...

UPDATE - Hunger Protest:

Hunger protest enters 2nd day. Second batch of 24 from PSMC including 4 consultants, 4 interns and 10 residents have joined today. Apart from doctors, some seven other staff of Shri Krishna Hospital, Karamsad have also joined.

9 students from Anand Physiotherapy College have joined today on a token 24-hour hunger protest today.

Students of BVM and PSMC on 72-hour protest in good health.

PSMC joins hunger protest

UPDATE - Hunger protest:

Students, interns, residents and consultants from PSMC have also joined the hunger protest starting today. It will be a relay protest with each batch sitting for 24 hours.

Today's batch is a total of 20 people including 7 consultants, 10 residents, 2 interns and 1 UG student.

Ankit Parikh, an intern, will be on the protest for 72 hours.
